The most beautiful thing about a cat's face is of course the eyes.  For this example I've chosen golden/green eyes.
The tear duct is pink, the iris is gold and the outline is black.
I've added a lighter pink to the tearduct for a highlight and then added white to make it appear wet.
I've done the same kind of thing on the lower rim of the eye - first with grey, then with white.  Notice it doesn't cover the whole rim.
I've floated green around the outer edge of the iris and then pulled striations towards the centre with a liner.
I've lightened the centre of the eye with drybrushing.
I've darkened the outer edges of the tear duct with a deeper colour and painted the almond-shaped pupil black.
I've darkened the green at the top of the eye, above the float.  This is a shadow so the catch-light in the eye must fall below the shadow, on the previous highlight.
I've floated a light blue highlight (c-stroke) on the upper part of the eye.
I hope this demo will help you paint beautiful cat's eyes!
